In episode 3 of his Advanced Keencut Picture Framing Series, award-winning picture framer David Wilkie GCF shows you how to insert a different coloured piece of board into a picture mount. This technique is similar to a double mount but only uses one layer; this style of inlay is particularly useful where there is little room in the rebate. The technique also allows you to add a hand-painted panel before it is fitted into the main picture mount. David guides you through each stage of the measuring and cutting process to create the perfect picture mount.
This video is part of the Keencut Picture Framing Masterclass presented by picture framer David Wilkie GCF. In the Advanced Keencut Picture Framing Masterclass, David shows you how to tackle more sophisticated framing techniques. This series of videos is ideal for the experienced framer wishing to enhance their skills or those who have already completed David’s initial Keencut Picture Framing Series.
