We have a SteelTrak 250 with V-Groove tool and have started experiencing an issue with cutting. The cut isn’t a consistant thickness or depth and creates tappered v-grooves. any ideas or fixes or ways to calibrate correctly? Thanks, Andre, Speedy Signs NZ
Your message says you ‘have started’ experiencing issues with v-grooving. Can I ask how long you have had the machine and if you were getting a consistent V-groove that has now changed or if you have never been able to get a consistent cut?
We have the same issue with our product aswel. From the date of purchase, the V groove tool would work correctly on panels below approximately 1 metre, anything above that it wouldn’t work correctly. At the top, it would go down roughly 30cm and work, fade out in the middle portion and resume grooving for the lower part of the board.
We have tried various different things to change the outcome, but haven’t got any luck with it. Wondering if there is something we can do to solve the issue.
The most common issue with V-grooving over the ST250 length is actually down to user technique and is easily solved. We have a short video explaining this in more detail which can be found in our Steeltrak support page in the tips and tricks section – https://www.keencut.com/support-category/steeltrak/
Have a look at this video and see if this sorts the issue out for you. If not please get in touch again on [email protected] and I will be abel to offer further assistance
