We are delighted to share our first Keencut review feature from a Canadian customer. ActuatePrint is based in Squamish, British Columbia, and they have recently purchased a Keencut Sabre Series 2. ActuatePrint is a print production company that began as a boutique marketing agency. Owner Bill Fredericks explains how the Keencut Sabre has dramatically improved the accuracy and speed of print finishing. Previously, ActuatePrint has used an improvised metal strip and a knife. Bill said that the Sabre was “a tremendous upgrade on how we were doing things before.” ActuatePrint produces a lot of large banners, and Bill related that one of the reasons he chose the Keencut Sabre was its capacity to cut larger sizes by moving the material along the cutter.
All Keencut products have a QR code printed on the machine. We asked Bill how easy it was to use the QR code to access the installation and support instructions, “It’s super user friendly. We used the QR code on the machine to bring up the installation instructions on our phone; it’s all very user friendly and intuitive.”
The Sabre Series 2 is a genuine all-round cutter bar that will safely cut a wide range of materials, up to 13mm (1/2″) thick and 3m (120″) wide. It is perfect for the print shop, workshop, studio, architects’ practice, or educational institution. It’s simple to use, incredibly versatile, and purposely designed for your safety; there is no need for calibration when installed. Its strong base will compensate for a substandard work surface to provide a stable cutting platform. The Sabre will sit directly on a bench or can be mounted on an optional stand that has the capacity to be fitted with a waste catcher and roll feed to become the perfect production cutter. ActuatePrint is very happy with the Sabre, and Bill believes that “it’s sped up productivity tenfold.”
