There are several reasons why we limit the glass cutting to 165cm:

• When cutting glass, it is important that the scoring wheel is moved along the surface of the glass in one smooth continuous motion, when cutting on the 2.1m or 2.5m version of SteelTrak the pull bar would need to be used because of the height. This would interrupt the movement of the scoring wheel and make the score line unreliable.
• When breaking glass on the SteelTrak after it has been scored it is done so by pushing the top edge of the glass near to the score line, on a 210cm piece of glass it is likely that the break may not run all the way down the glass so it will need to be pushed again further down. This process we consider unsafe as the initial break would most likely need to be done by the operator climbing steps and then coming down them whilst there is a partially cut, large piece of glass on the machine.
• The support arms on the machine are not large enough to support the width of very large pieces of glass. The SteelTrak leans at an angle of between 10-15 degrees and the top corners of the glass will tend to try and bend backwards putting the glass under stress.
